Microsoft Active Directory

Microsoft Active Directory AD Multi Domain Management

General Overview of Microsoft's Active Directory Service

What is Microsoft Active Directory?

Microsoft Active Directory (Ad or AD DS), is a suite of directory based services used in Microsoft Windows domain networks. Microsoft Active Directory is utilized in most Windows server implementations, set up to run related processes and services by default.

History of Active Directory-

Microsoft Active Directory is a cumulative collaboration of years and years worth of technological innovations and evolution within the communications and internet technology industries. Active Directory employs concepts and processes known as LDAP and RFC that were created even before the actual company Microsoft was even founded. These innovative ideas and processes, the LDAP concept and the RFC concept, were the very first stepping stones contributing to communication security, and utilized in the creation of Microsoft Active Directory. Microsoft soft launched Active Directory in 1999, following with subsequent releases of Windows 2000 server edition, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, etc.

Features, Processes, and Services of Microsoft Active Directory

Microsoft Active Directory is perceived as a logical directory management service, consisting of at least a database along with respective computer code that executes requests pertaining to the general function of the database.  Microsoft Active Directory’s executable portions are known as the main Directory System Agent which is a collection of services and processes that run on Windows 2000 Server edition and above. Objects, widgets, apps and software communicate and can be accessed via LDAP, ADSO, messaging API’s, and security account management services.

Just about any server running Microsoft Active Directory is often referred to as a domain controller server. This domain controlling server basically authorizes and enforces default security processes defined as the server administrator. Microsoft AD utilizes and employs Lightweight Directory Access Protocol processes (LDAP) via cross checking user names and corresponding passwords used by users to log into a pre-determined we system. In a nutshell Microsoft Active Directory utilizes LDAP versions two and three, Microsoft’s version of Kerberos, and general DNS service processes and protocols. Furthermore, Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (Ad DS) is the framework in every Windows powered domain network.

Active Directory is typically installed on a server(s) that is commonly referred to as a domain controller. The domain controller operates by being queried when a user logs into a device or communicates with another device within the domain controller network of servers. Microsoft Active Directory efficiently stores large amounts of private data about related and authorized members of a domain. Active Directory records and securely stores user information and their respective devices used to access the domain, verifies user login information while simultaneously defining a user their specific access rights and privileges.

What is Nano Tech?

Nanotechnology-

What is Nanotechnology?

NanoTechnology Definition-Nanotechnology, also known as "NanoTech", is the process and capability to change, control, and alter atoms, molecules, and supra-molecules. Where science, engineering, and technology meet.

What is Nanotechnology?

In a nutshell Nanoscience and nanotechnology can best be described as the science of extremely small "things", thinking on an atomic or molecular level. Nanotechnology is where the collaboration of science and technology work harmoniously together  to basically have the ability to control individual atoms and molecules. What is interesting is that we did not even microscopes that were powerful enough to being able to see on a molecular level up until approximately 30 years ago. None the less, nanoscience and  nanotechnology has come a long way and is currently utilized in a wide variety of applications spanning the fields of engineering, chemistry, physics, biology, medical, manufacturing, along with many other applications in a wide variety of other industries.

Who Invented Nanotechnology?

The concept of nanotechnology was initially brought to light back in 1959 at CalTech University, by a physicist named Richard Feynman, also known as, the "Father of nanotechnology". After years of further research and development of nanoscience and nanotechnology, an Italian scientist achieved success and called the scientific process "Nanotechnology".

What is a Nanometer?

A nanometer is one billionth of one meter, also known as the nanoscale.
Even though nanotechnology is a relatively new branch of science, we have made leaps and bounds with Nanotech and Nanoscience within the past 30 years. In March of 2011, the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies reported that there were over 1300 products available to the public, with 3-4 new products coming to market every week.5 years later, and assuming the rate of new products hitting the market, that would be approximately 2-3,000+ nanotechnology products available for retail to the public.

Where is nanotechnology commonly used?

Commercial products such as- food packaging and products, cosmetics, clothing, sun block, disinfectants, household appliances, etc.
Nanomedicine, Nanobiotechnology, Green nanotechnology, Energy applications of nanotechnology, Industrial applications of nanotechnology, Potential applications of carbon nanotubes, nanoart...

Nanotechnology in books, on TV, and in the movies-

Nanotech in Books- Nanotechnology has been featured in works of literature as far back as the late 1800’s. In 1881 a Russian write Nikola Leskov created a book called, “The Tale of Cross-eyed Lefty from Tula and the Steel Flea”. Within this book, Nikola wrote about a special text that could only be readable at  through a special microscope with 5 million times magnification.  Other works of literature that include references to nanotechnology would include- Microhands in 1931, The Next Tenants by Arthur C. Clarke,  The Invincible as well as Peace on Earth by Stanislaw Lem, Blood Music by Greg Bear, The Diamond Age by Neil Stephenson,  Prey by Michael Crichton, etc.

Nanotechnology in movies- Terminator 2 , IRobot, GI Joe, James Bond, Agent Cody Banks, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Terminator Genisys, Transcendence,

Nanotechnology on TV-  Star Trek,  Outer Limits, Red Dwarf, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Doctor Who, Stargate and Stargate Atlantis, Knight Rider, Revolution, Generator Rex on Cartoon Network, ...

AR vs. VR- What is the Difference?

AR vs. VR

What is the Difference Between Augmented Reality Systems and Virtual Reality Systems?

Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) Explained

Augmented Reality Definition- Augmented reality can easily be described as a live, view-able, altered, and enhanced version of your perceived world, manipulated with the assistance of advanced computer technologies that simulate sensory effects via audio, images and graphics, video, scents and smells, touch sensations, location data, and harvested historical data from multiple data sources
Virtual Reality Definition- Virtual reality is a 100% simulated, forward facing, computer generated environment.

So what is the Difference between Augmented Reality versus Virtual Reality?

The difference between augmented reality and virtual reality is simple. Augmented reality is modified (enhanced or degraded) typically by computers, while virtual reality is completely generated by computers, software, and hardware. Augmented reality technology A simple example would be a welding helmet that alters the welders visual perception, blocking out the blinding and dangerous welding arc rays. An advanced example would be an immersive augmented reality gaming system with all of the bells and whistles (System, headset or eyeglasses, other devices).

Augmented Reality Systems and Virtual Reality Systems

With entertainment technology ever evolving, the same holds true with n the Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality markets.  Fortunately, the industry is not as saturated as one may think, probably due to the fact that augmented reality and virtual reality technology is not cheap to develop and mass market. This appears to give a leg up for the companies that are already working with this particular technology, the same does not hold true for the consumer. As there are only a small number of companies developing, manufacturing, and distributing augmented reality and virtual reality systems, they do not come cheap to the public as the laws of supply and demand come into effect.

Virtual Reality Systems- OculusRift, Virtalis, Google Cardboard, Google DayDream VR System, and Sony recently announced the up and coming release of the Playstation VR system.

Augmented Reality systems- Lyteshot, Project Anywhere, EOn reality (A hybrid of augmented reality, virtual reality, and interactive 3d applications), MARS project , HTC Vive, and HTC Gear VR,
Microsft Hololens, Google Glass, etc.

New Augmented Reality Technology-

As AR technology sounds extremely advanced, you would be surprised to find out just how many products we use everyday that utilizes AR technology. Mobile devices, tablets, smart televisions, GPS systems are just a few of the more popular products most people use on a daily basis; more recently as an example- PokemonGo

Other industries that use some form of augmented reality technology- airports and travel, aerospace, Military, architecture, education, medical, gaming, beauty, art, construction, archeology, and even in greeting cards(iGreet). Other augmented reality technology that is currently being developed- Contact lenses that alter and enhance human perception, augmented reality wearables, new marketing and advertising technologies for augmented reality systems and virtual reality systems.

It is nothing short of exciting and amazing to see this type of technology being developed and pushed to market for consumer entertainment use, such as with PokemonGo, Ghostbusters, FourSquare, GoogleGlass, and other AR and VR systems and viewing devices. Aside from much more practical applications, I am sure we would all love to try both the augmented realty and virtual reality systems with our favorite video game.  Am I wrong? PokemonGo, COD, Zombies???

Unfortunately for pedestrians, you now have to duck and dodge idiots on their "smart" devices while they enjoy themselves on Facebook, Snapchat, IM, Twitter, Twitch, PokemonGo, and many others???...is this another ploy at eugenics or inflating insurance rates as accidents increase from these "smart" devices and their operators??? :)
